So Tired

So tomorrow the electrician is going to come over and FINALLY fix the swamp cooler (for real this time (hopefully)). Then, next Thursday, another guy will come over and install a new furnace and new central air conditioning. Woohoo! Now here's the cool part: the landlord says he will pay half. So we'll only end up paying around $2000.00 for the whole thing, which is an awesome investment. It raises the value of the house and we only pay half for it.

Buster: Soooooooooooooooo worn out.

Pretty Storm

I love storms. I am the type of person who, when I used to live in Oklahoma and South Dakota (tornadoes a'plenty), would stand outside until the last possible second so I could see the funnel cloud up close and personal. In fact, one time my Mim and I were driving in a huge storm and we got caught in the middle of a funnel in the van. It was the COOLEST experience EVER.

This is no tornado...the storms in Utah are pathetic compared, but at least it's something.

There's a bit of lightning, and soon the rain will start falling, and I can sleep to that. I will HAVE to sleep to that either way because we need cool air in this house.

What about the swamp cooler? Oh yeah, the guy fixed it, and then it broke again. Apparently the motor was trashed so he replaced that and called it good. Then, I got home and it was on, and felt soooooo good. We turned it off for a while because it got cool enough and we don't like wasting money on power if we can help it. Then, I was getting ready for bed so I turned it on so it would be nice and cool (we sleep on the top floor) and POP and then the burning smell again.
Scott climbed back up there and it looks like the power thingy is short circuited and it blew the breaker and it's bad because the house could catch on fire and then we would lose everything. Sad.

Swamp Cooler

Our swamp cooler broke this weekend. It made a burning smell. We didn't know what was making the burning smell though so we spent like half an hour going around the house sniffing all the electronics to try to figure out what it was. Anyway, we figured out it was the swamp cooler. Our landlord wanted us to use a specific company to fix it, but they couldn't come out until today so the whole weekend we were sticky and hot. BOO. But it's fixed now and we didn't have to pay for it, so LIFE IS GOOD.

CD On Buster

Balancing things on Buster is fun. But it only works if he's completely tired out.

Not Again...

Poor Scottie isn't feeling well. He stayed home today and is all feverish and miserable. I hope I don't get whatever he has. I was sick last week. I think it was just allergies, but it was still miserable.

Anniversary Ice Cream

Last night we stayed up way too late and ended up in bed, side by side, with two laptops (also there are two computers in the basement plus another laptop, and also on the night stand next to Scott there was another small internet-PDA thingy, plus we had 3 cell phones and 3 or 4 mp3 devices...we may need an intervention, because we just ordered another laptop, for me, it's pink, I'm in heaven, the end.).

The other day we went to Wal-Mart, and we looked at the cameras just to see what they had, and there was a nice 10 megapixel with all these bells and whistles for $109.00. Magic! So we bought it, and someone (cough Scott cough) hasn't put it down since. He's made lots of videos, and we are now chronicling everything photographically because, well, because we can.

Now, our two year wedding anniversary is coming up on Monday, and we decided to celebrate this weekend since we don't have time to really do anything during the week. So Scott took the day off and I took half the day off and we planned to go to Maddox, which is this amazingly super awesome restaurant in Perry, which is like an hour and a half away from our house. So the plan was for me to come home early, change and shower, and then we were going to drive up there early so we could eat a bit earlier and beat the rush and still be able to get home in time and go to bed somewhat close to our normal time because we are OLD PEOPLE. Then Scott's work decided to explode and they needed him all day. We found that out on Thursday. Now, it wasn't in any way shape or form Scott's fault, but I still made him make it up to me by taking me out to dinner Thursday AND Friday night, and then Cold Stone after. So here, in all its glory, is the whole reason I am glad I have been married for two years:
Ok, not the WHOLE reason. Not even close.

The only thing left is to leave a picture of Buster, because he's so freaking adorable I can't help it.
Why aren't you giving me people food? Don't you love me?

Yes, but not enough to clean up your diarrhea after I let you eat my anniversary ice cream. So GO AWAY and stop sniffing it. Go eat your own food, fatty.

Sticky Puppy

I am in a bad mood because Buster stepped in one of those sticky mouse/spider traps (that was behind and under some big stuff, no idea how he managed to get there) and I had to spend an hour soaking his foot and clipping all the hair off his toes and it still didn't get it all so he looks retarded...anyway I wrapped his foot up in plastic wrap and walked him to Petco to see if they had any special soap or something they could soak it in to get the glue off and they didn't have anything. So, we bought treats to make him feel better and walked back home, where Scott wrangled him so I could soak his foot in acetone to see if that would help. It helped a little, and unstuck more of the hair on his toes so I could clip it, but he was still sort of sticky. Sad puppy!
Here is a cute picture of Scott and Buster:
